Education System in Singapore

Singaporean Education System is known to be one of the most effective and best education systems in the world. It consists of the following:

  1. Kindergartens- Children attend preschool from age 3-6.
  2. Primary education- 6 years of Primary Education is required to be able to sit for the national Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE). The PSLE results will determine if the child is supposed to attend a normal secondary school, a specialized school.
  3. Secondary education- It is an express school that leads to the “”O”” Level in four years rather than the regular five years or another school (such as a privately funded one), which offers a similar education. 4-5 years of Secondary Education is needed to enable the students to participate in the annual Singaporean GCE ‘O’ Level whose scores will determine which pre-universities or post-secondary institutions they may apply for.
  4. Pre-university and post-secondary studies- Post-secondary education usually takes between one and three years and offers a choice of schools, including junior colleges, polytechnics, and institutes of technical education.

Singapore Student Visa

After receiving the offer letter from the specified institute for a specific course, students got to apply for a student pass to enter Singapore.Various Institutes in Singapore will file the Singapore student pass and register it for the Indian students application on behalf of the students to Singapore immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA). Applications are required to be submitted through the Student’s Pass Online Application and Registration (SOLAR) system.

  • The new applications for a Student’s Pass must be submitted a minimum of one month and less than two months before the commencement of the course.
  • The registration of the Application form is done by an Institute of higher Learning (IHL)
  • Applications are required to be submitted through the SOLAR system/ Student’s Pass Online Application and Registration system. -Submission of eForm 16 by Student
  • Upon submission of the eForm 16 through SOLAR, students are required to print a replica of the eForm for submission to the Student’s Pass Unit, ICA, to finish formalities for the issuance of a Student’s Pass.
